Revelle Taillon of Plaistow presents her work and those of participants in her classes
Attend the artist reception for Revelle Taillon, Plaistow, NH, on Sunday March 5th, from 3pm to 5pm at the Seacoast Artist Association gallery, 130 Water Street, Exeter. Refreshments will be served.
As the artist featured in March, Taillon will be displaying works with some of her students. The exhibit opens Saturday February 26th and runs through Friday March 31st.
Graphic designer, illustrator and artist, Taillon, has found a new niche. She has created beautiful artwork in several different mediums, but it is her work with colored pencils that has gotten the attention of local art associations and galleries alike. Over the last year and a half the artist has created over 50 new pieces in colored pencil, many focused on birds.
Recently, two of her mixed media pieces, “Great Horned Owl” and “Flamingo”, were chosen by
noted juror, David Allen Sibley; well-known author, illustrator and ornithologist, to be in an
exhibition titled “For the Birds” in the series Art of Nature at the Brush Gallery in Lowell. Organized by Eileen Byrne, the show is a collaboration with the Massachusetts Audubon Society to focus attention on birds and their habitats and to raise funds for the volunteers who care for injured birds until they are able to be returned to the wild.
After her great success in Lowell, Taillon was invited to hang a one woman show at the Massachusetts Audubon Society in Newburyport, MA, also featuring her birds.
FOR THE BIRDS: “The show is terrific, and I heard we had more people for your reception than we’ve had for quite a long time. Congratulations!”
Seacoast Artist Association member and art teacher, Taillon, received this message from Melissa Vokey, Development Director and Administrative Manager of the Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center, after her new one woman show, FOR THE BIRDS opened February 4th. The show included a series of 26 of her colored pencil drawings, mostly of birds, and 3 black and white drawings from her new series, ANIMALS OF AFRICA. The reception was packed with family, friends, well wishers, Meetup members, and some of Taillon’s art students.
