Noel Soucy Gallery

My subject matter is nature, whether it is a traditional landscape, a flower, a bird, or a bear painting. I use a palette knife and brush on canvas, to capture
movement, texture, and depth for each painting. My art is a piece of me.. it tells a story of where I’ve been, what I’m feeling or thinking of in that moment as I create from memory and thoughts. Whether I’m painting atmospheric landscape or a silly fox face.. I create with joy and peace, and I would like to think those who view my art feel the emotion in my work.

Noel Soucy is a self-taught painter based in York, Maine currently working in acrylic and oil on canvas to create contemporary landscapes inspired by her adventures in mid coast Maine and her surroundings. Her explorations outside largely mirror her explorations in the studio as she captures the beauty of Maine’s landscapes. For Soucy, each painting starts with a feeling or memory she wants to express. Image evolves freely as she layers color and texture, scratching into the surface, working with palette knives and brushes until the character of the scene emerges. Noel is an exhibiting member in the Seacoast Artist Association, and Kittery Art Association.

You can find her painting at her home studio in York, ME, or her studio at Western Ave Studios in Lowell, MA.
