I am a passionate watercolor artist, quilter and dedicated math teacher based in Manchester. With a lifelong admiration for art, I dreamed of watercolor painting for many years. For years, I have been taking photos of things I wanted to someday paint and stowing them away. The demands of raising six children kept those dreams on hold. Oddly enough, the COVID pandemic offered me a new opportunity for artistic exploration.
During this time, I began studying watercolor painting under the guidance of Doris Rice, where I dove headfirst into the world of watercolor. This medium, with its fluidity and unpredictability, fascinates me, encouraging me to challenge personal boundaries and tackle intricate subjects that push my limits of technique and expression. While aspiring to achieve a loose painting style, I have developed a distinctive approach that reflects precision and detail.
It is my belief that art is a powerful form of communication and self-discovery. Each brushstroke serves as a reflection of personal experiences, emotions, and the beauty found in everyday life. As part of this ongoing journey,I am currently exploring the vibrant world of pastels as I am eager to explore and expand the palette of techniques and styles that infuse my artistic expression.
