Nancy Reiss took up water painting for therapy and escape during a health challenge 20 years ago. In addition to total focus and joy, she discovered some talent and a definite style. Painting has become her obsession (she’s taken more than 14 courses and studied with 8 different teachers) and a meditation where she is continuously surprised and usually pleased. She tries to use her right brain in combination with a good eye for composition and painting from her own photos. Intense and vibrant colors resonate with her as she follows the zen of simple subjects.

Water painting brings her travel adventures and pleasure. She has attended plein air workshops with Doris Rice locally, nationally and internationally, including travel to the Cape, Monhegan, New Mexico, Florida, Tuscany, Sicily, Spain and upcoming Costa Rica.

She has exhibited at the Seacoast Art Association and with the Seacoast Open Studio in local libraries and venues such as the Lane Art Gallery, Unity on the River, St Anthony’s Bakery, D Squared Java Coffee Shop and the Exeter Hospital.
