Susan Scott has been a resident of Exeter, New Hampshire for a decade, previously residing in the Monadnock region, and is a native of Kansas. She retired in 2009 and now devotes her time to family, gardening, volunteering, travel and painting.
In 1999 Susan began watercolor painting with the late Al Thrasher of Keene, N.H. Locally she has studied painting with Maddi Alana, Doris Rice, Lisa Mitchell, Robert Steedman, and Beaman Cole.
Though she prefers painting with watercolors, she includes acrylics, pastels, and oils in her work. Her interest and passion for gardening and nature are evident in her paintings. Most of her work is from use of her own photography from her travels as well as some plein air painting. She has toured many gardens and National Parks throughout the United States as well as the Cotswold region of Great Britain, France, and the Caribbean.
Susan paints with the Seacoast Open Studio art group in Exeter showing regularly with the group. Exhibits include the Exeter Hospital, town offices, local libraries and D2 Java. She also exhibited at the Beach Pea in Kittery, Maine as a member of the Kittery Art Association. In 2018 she participated in the Lowell Boat Show. She is an exhibiting member of the Seacoast Artist Association in Exeter.
