The inspiration for my portraits and figures originally came from my grandmother’s childhood family photo album. Digging further into the old family trunk, I found other pictures from one and two generations prior to hers. I also have used mug shots from the previous turn of the century. I guess I was, or am, attracted to the forlorn nature of them….and of course the trees in the landscape – depicting natural beauty and chaos.
