Giving Expression to New Hampshire’s Scenic Sites

I am a graduate of UCLA in fine arts and studied with a variety of artists in their programs. Stan Moeller, Todd Bonita and The Art Institute in Manchester have been part of my painting experience.

Loon Mountain by Mary Crump

I have been a teacher of art for the past 30 years. I have written a curriculum on art for grades 1 thru 12, based on the J. P. Getty Program addressing the study and appreciation of painting throughout different periods in history.
My body of work includes landscapes and portraits. Giving expression to a variety of scenic areas in New Hampshire has been my focus at this time.

The study and exploration of color has been an interest and pursuit which I continue to have by giving classes in color theory.

Attending art shows, galleries and museums continues to expand my knowledge and challenge my knowledge of art and painting. Reading about the lives of artists and different periods of painting has expanded my knowledge and appreciation which I enjoy sharing with my students to stimulate their interest and understanding.

Zoe Brooke

Wellspring

Exploring the various complexities of finding joy within the fabric of our daily lives.

Eternal Chrysalis by Zoe Brooke

A self-taught and somewhat lawless artist, Zoe is intrigued by the magic and dexterity of color. She paints with exuberance and expressionism and is constantly stretching its’ boundaries seeking out ideas, concepts and methods in all things.

Last year, Zoe was diagnosed with a rare genetic eye disease that is progressively eroding her vision. While the prognosis is unclear and varies from person to person, it is likely she will eventually lose most of her central and color vision and may even lose her ability to paint altogether. In the meantime though, her plan is simple: seek out, revel in, and actively create as many wild, daring, and beautiful things as she possibly can.

Zoe paints in acrylic. Her paintings range from human and animal portraiture to landscape compilations and vibrant still life interpretations. Her work can be found in various galleries around New England, several private collections, as well as a variety of shows and festivals throughout the year.

Nonconformity by Zoe Brooke

As an artist, Zoe considers herself a collector – of colors, of ideas, of feelings, of moods. She believes there is an incredible amount of complexity and contradiction at the heart of every human being, and she’s in the business of connecting some of those dots in an attempt to capture a glimpse of the beauty that lies in between.

Zoe lives and paints in Portsmouth, NH with her husband, Russell and their two cats, Milo & Clementine.
