Notes from the artist: This young Eagle had caught a Pickerel so big she was exhausted from trying to lift it up and fly with it. Not about to let it go she let me photograph her for several minutes. Anybody Home
Phillip Allen
Photograph

Quinby Wins
Phillip Allen
Photograph
$165

Dimensions: 16 15/16″ x 20 1/4″ framed.

Notes from the artist: During one of my urban explorations I discovered a long abandoned property. The 2nd floor was nearly obscured by scrapbook clippings. I had to tiptoe to avoid stepping on them. Once I found an open spot, this image came to life, a quick view into days past.

Exeter Downeaster
Phillip Allen
Photograph
$50

Dimensions: 9 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ framed.

Notes from the artist: Time lapsed image of the Downeaster pulling into Exeter Depot at night.

Promise of Spring
David Turbide
Acrylic on Canvas Panel
$150

Dimensions: Image size 8″ x 10″; mahogany frame outside dimensions 12″ x 14″.

Notes from the artist: I’ve always been inspired and fascinated by the early Spring bulbs – daffodils, crocus, etc. – that either poke up through the snow or are covered with snow after they emerge from the ground in late March or early April. This year, these daffodils fell into the latter category when the “April Fool” snow reminded us that Winter was not yet through with us.

Motif #1, from a different angle
David Turbide
Oil on Canvas Panel
$150

Dimensions: Image size 8″ x 10″; simple gray frame 9.5″ x 11.5″.

Notes from the artist: Motif #1 in Rockport, MA is one of the most photographed and painted buildings in the country. I love these seaside shacks and work buildings, especially those with their colorful buoys and/or signs of weathering and age. This building is well maintained, of course, but interesting nonetheless for its spectacular location and those lobster buoys! I’ve seen very few paintings (maybe none) of The Motif from any angle other than straight-on. So here’s another, and I think more interesting, view.

Cedar Keys, Florida
Pat Boyd-Robertson
Photograph
$80

Dimensions: 12″ x 18″

Notes from the artist: This picture was taken on the Main Street in Cedar Keys, Fla. Most of the town’s high points are up the street and in an area around the ocean. This picture was taken downtown. Most of the buildings are somewhat older and unused. The colors that come off the buildings are beautiful and not to be neglected or overlooked.

Stately Abode
Pat Boyd-Robertson
Photograph
$180

Dimensions: 20″ X 24″

Notes from the artist: This is a granite home that overlooks a small town outside of Lake Placid. It seems to carry prestige along with an attitude. I was in awe of this home.

Spring Fields
Lynn Krumholz
Oil and Cold Wax
$225

Dimensions: 14″ x 14″ including frame. Painting is approximately 7″ x 7″ mounted in narrow black wood frame with double off-white mat.

Notes from the artist: Most every morning, I pass all kinds of fields, marshes and streams on my walk. A constant source of inspiration. When I paint, I try to let them unfold naturally, as this field seemed to do.

In Passing
Lynn Krumholz
Oil and Cold Wax
$225

Dimensions: 14″ x 14″ including frame. Painting is approximately 7″ x 7″ mounted in narrow black wood frame with double off-white mat.

Notes from the artist: What is about those fleeting moments in nature? I find this piece to be a bit of a mystery too. Is it dusk, dawn, before or after a spring rain? I can’t decide.

Granite Point
Karen Romagna
Oil
$750

Dimensions: Art 11” x 14”. Approximate size with black/gold frame 17.5” x 20.5”.

Notes from the artist: The sun was just touching the horizon at the end of a beautiful day last summer in Maine. The reflections shimmered in the salt marsh.

Star Island
Karen Romagna
Oil
$225

Dimensions: 5”x 7”. Approximate size of the painting framed black/gold 11” x 13”.

Notes from the artist: This is the scene from the rambling porch at the Oceanic Hotel on Star Island. This is where my sisters and I spent a wonderful summer afternoon painting together

Hilltop Home
Sue Hennigan
Oil
$500

Dimensions: Artwork 11″ x 14″ panel. Framed size approximately 17″ x 20″.

Notes from the artist: This painting was painted pleinair as spring was erupting. The subject is a mansion on the hill in Rollingsford, NH, taking center stage among the mill buildings. I imagine the owner of the mill built this house , taking over his prominent position in the company. This is framed in a beautiful black convex curved frame with gold colored detailed lip.

Spring Blooms
Sue Hennigan
Oil
$75

Dimensions: Approximately 7×9 framed in a simple black floating frame (artwork 5×7 landscape).

Notes from the artist: This little gem was painted pleinair in early spring at beach plum farm in Ogunquit ME. It is a beach plum bush in spring bloom.

Cherries
Sue Hennigan
Acrylic
$350

Dimensions: 25″ x 37″ in a simple black metal frame. This image is also available as cards for sale at SAA.

Notes from the artist: This artwork is part of a cocktail condiments series. It is a whimsical piece depicting cherries tumbling through space. This artwork would look great in your party room or a commercial bar. The other artworks from the series ended up in a local drinking establishment.

Snowy in the Boughs
Ann Brown
Photograph
$145

Dimensions: 13″ x 16″, white mat and black metal frame

Chickens in the Forsythia
Debra Woodward
Oil
$525

Dimensions: 18″ W x 22″ H with flat black frame. Will deliver within 1 hr drive from Exeter.
Note from artist: I love how my neighbors’ chickens roost in our forsythia bushes. While painting this, I learned that the painter Mondrian rejected curves because he wanted to communicate something “pure and universal”, so I went back and removed all the curved lines and abstracted it!

Joyce Andersen
Debra Woodward
Oil
$375

Dimensions: 16″ W x 19″ H with 3″gold metal leaf wood frame. Will deliver within 1 hr drive from Exeter.

Notes from the artist: I created this painting of York, Maine veteran fiddler, singer and songwriter Joyce Andersen from a photo I took of her at a house concert the summer of 2015. I was trying out the style of abstract painter Elaine de Kooning which I hoped would capture the power and energy of Joyce’s performance.

Vase with Flowers
Christine Blomquist

Red Barn
Christine Blomquist
Wool Fiber Art
$225

Dimensions: 11″ x 14″ white shadow box frame.

Notes from the artist: Wet felting techniques were used to create the sky and meadow, then several needle felting techniques were used to give the image dimension. The image was inspired by a children’s book that I read to my grandson.

Spring Arrives
Noel Soucy
Acrylic on Wood
$130

Dimensions: framed 9” wide x 12” high.

Notes from the artist: One of the first signs of spring is the beautiful forsythia bush! When I look out my window and I see the bright yellow flowers in bloom.. I know that the good weather is here to stay.
